A trip to the Fair

Yesterday, we worked moving & packing for several hours, took a quick dip in the pool (it felt good since the temp outside was in the high 90's) and decided later that night to go to our local fair.

It's always fun to spend a few hours at the fair. We both agree that one of the best things at the fair is the animals. Most of the rides will make me three shades of green & you can spend your life savings on the games and only come away with a small stuffed animal--so to the livestock section it is. We grabbed a quick bite to eat and then headed over check out the animals .

This goat (seen below) was super friendly---I think he knew he was cute and was milking it (pardon the pun). He was in the petting zoo part where they had goats, lambs, rabbits, and pigs (one lady was calling the pigs "Charlotte" after Charlotte's Web. I tried telling her Charlotte was the spider AND Wilbur was the pig but she would have nothing to do with that and kept calling the pigs "Charlotte". ) Oh well...what can you do??

We were fascinated by the cows. Did you know that your average holstein cow can produce 7-8 gallons of milk a day? Gives you a whole new appreciation for milk! I tried to get the holstein in the pix but it was more interested in eating than my photo opportunity. I guess that's what happens when you have 4 stomachs to feed!

Last but not least you can't beat this animal....looks like a cross between a dog and a goat??

As you can see, in the midst of packing and unpacking, we are still trying to get out each night and do something fun.

Well, need to run...more unpacking to be done..

Love to all!

Love your blog. Keep it going! I'm sure it's going to get more and more exciting as the "big day" approaches. Can't wait to see your entries.
